Nancy Christie

Nancy Christie is the award-winning author of the Midlife Moxie novels, including the recently released Transforming Tessa, four short story collections, two books for writers and an essay collection. She is the creator and host of the Living the Writing Life podcast, the founder of the annual “Midlife Moxie” Day and “Celebrate Short Fiction” Day, and a popular speaker and workshop presenter. Christie is a member of the Florida Writers Association (FWA) and the Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA).
My love affair with writing started in my childhood. Books carried me into worlds I never knew existed, and, once I learned how to write, my imagination kept me there.
With paper and pen, I could bring people to life who never before existed. With 26 letters, I could create a universe of my own. As an adult, writing is my way of making a connection with the rest of the world. Fiction, non-fiction, essays and books—they are all the tools with which I shape the land and make my home.

Sally Witt

Sally Witt, a Sister of St. Joseph of Baden, PA, is a poet and historian. She has lived most of her life in western Pennsylvania and her ministry has been largely in the areas of education, history, and community outreach. She has written histories of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Watertown, NY (Sisters of the North Country, 2005); the Holy Spirit Sisters of Pittsburgh (A Hidden Spirit, 2014); and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia, KS (Beyond the Frontier, 2020). Her poetry has appeared in The Christian Century, U.S. Catholic, Spirituality, Bearings Online, Soul by Southwest, and other publications. Her poetry chapbook, Claiming Light and Darkness, came out in 2024 from Finishing Line Press. Another small book of poetry, Winter Hours, is due out in July 2027 from Cinnamon Press. Besides writing poetry, Sally is currently assisting in collaborative planning for placement of archives of religious congregations in western Pennsylvania. She is not sure when she started writing, but she knew by her elementary school years with the Ursuline Sisters of Pittsburgh that writing was essential in her life. Since she is not the only historian or the only writer in her family, it’s likely there is some inheritance here.
