The North Hills Pittsburgh Branch of AAUW is pleased to announce the 5th annual authors lunch event”For the Love of Books” Fundraiser. Three talented female Authors will speak. This is a great opportunity to interact with 3 local authors and to raise funds for our scholarship and to support our mission for women and girls.

5th Annual For the Love of Books Fundraiser

- Doors open at 9:30 am
- Location: La Roche University, 9000 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 (Zappala Center.)

An exciting day awaits you!
10:00am -Start the event with muffins accompanied by coffee or tea. Spend time visiting with the authors, vendors and putting your tickets in the raffle baskets, 20/$10. 50/$20.
11am-12:30pm – Enjoy the authors presentations followed by a panel question/discussion by the authors and moderator.
12:30-1:00pm – Purchase the authors’ books that are available and have your book signed. One last chance for raffle baskets and visit the vendors for last-minute purchases.
1:00pm – Enjoy a light lunch with dessert (lunch is gluten and nut free).
2:00pm – Check to see if you have the winning tickets for the raffle baskets.
Cost: The cost of $45 includes entrance to the event, light refreshments when you arrive, authors presentations, and lunch. Seating is limited so register now! Reservations by May 23, 2025 are required. To purchase tickets: Make checks out to AAUW North Hills Pittsburgh

Meet the Authors
Liz Milliron


Liz Milliron is the Shamus award-nominated author of The Laurel Highlands Mysteries series, set in the scenic Laurel Highlands and The Homefront Mysteries, set in Buffalo, NY during the early years of World War II. Thicker Than Water, the sixth book in the Laurel Highlands Mysteries, was released in August 2023. The fifth book of the Homefront Mysteries, The Secrets We Keep, was released in February 2024. Her short fiction has appeared in several anthologies, including Mystery Most International, Mystery Most Historical and the Anthony-award winning Blood on the Bayou. Liz splits her time between Pittsburgh and the Laurel Highlands, where she lives with her husband and a very spoiled retired-racer greyhound. She is a past-president of the Pittsburgh chapter of Sisters in Crime, and the current vice-president, and she is the National Sisters in Crime Education Liaison. Liz is also a member of Pennwriters, International Thriller Writers, and the Historical Novel Society.

JoAnne Klimovich


JoAnne Klimovich Harrop is a features writer for TribLive. She celebrated 27 years with the company on Oct. 14, 2024. When she was hired in 1997, JoAnne was the first full time female reporter in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s sports department. JoAnne currently writes stories about interesting people and fun places from food to real estate, arts and entertainment and things to do in the city every weekend. JoAnne has won multiple journalism awards, including the Society of Professional Journalists, several Keystone State awards and six Golden Quills. Her most notable recognition was when she received one of the most prestigious journalism awards– a 2021 national Edward R. Murrow – for a story about quarantining with her 93-year-old mother Evelyn for 85 days in her Squirrel Hill nursing home during the 2020 pandemic. That story inspired a book by the same name. JoAnne is a graduate of the former Sacred Heart High School and Pennsylvania State University. A native of Greenfield, she has three older sisters and one older brother. She currently lives in Scott Township with her husband Perry
She is the author of “A Daughter’s Promise.” The book details Harrop’s 85-day stay in her mother’s nursing home
Jocelyn Kraemer


Jocelyn Kraemer lives near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her husband and a delightful menagerie of wild pets, including two charming ducks who keep her entertained every morning over coffee. Though her two boys have grown and flown the nest, Jocelyn keeps busy with boating, tackling endurance events like triathlons, engaging in serial community revitalization projects, and savoring a great glass of wine (or two) with her amazing friends and family.
She believes in happily ever after and, when she doesn’t get one immediately, she writes one! Dive into one of her books, sit back, and relax. Even when grappling with difficult subjects, Jocelyn’s got you covered with a guaranteed happy ending.
